How to Make Money For Christmas - 5 Simple Ways to Make Money With No Start Up Costs

Here's how to make money for Christmas as the holiday season approaches. I'm going to give you 5 simple ways to make money with no money invested for start up costs, and a few very simple ways to market your business.
1) Gift Wrapping Business- This can be a fun Christmas business and is one of the easy ways to make money fast and is a great way to make money with no money. You can charge by the package or by the hour. $1 per package is reasonable. Advertise your business for free online on the local Craigslist directory for your city
2) Post Office Delivery Service- Another great way to make holiday money. People hate to stand in line at the post office. Offer for a fee to deliver peoples packages to the post office. Charge a flat fee or hourly rate.
3) Christmas Decoration Set Up- This can be a fun way to get in the Christmas spirit and make some holiday cash to buy Christmas gifts. Many busy professionals don't have time to decorate their homes by themselves and could use someone to help them. Many businesses could use the extra help. Charge by the hour for this one.
4) Christmas Tree Delivery Service- If you have a truck or larger car you can offer to deliver and set up Christmas tress for people. Many people don't want to get their cars dirty and struggle with getting the tree into their home and set up. Tell the owner of the local Christmas tree lot what you are doing and ask if you can post a flyer near the cash register. The owner may also let you leave a clip board for people to sign up for your service.  Make sure the owner has your phone number so he can call you on a moments notice. Set this service up with 2 or 3 different tree lots and you may have more business than you can handle.
Charge $10-$20 depending on what you are doing. Lower end of the scale is for delivery only the upper end for delivery and set up. This is a great way to earn money for Christmas.
5) Errand Service- Offer to do people's errands such as picking up dry cleaning, grocery shopping, gift drop off, etc. People get stressed out easily during the holidays and would love for someone to do all their running around for them. Charge by the hour or the trip(s).
All these services can be marketed with a listing for your local area on Craigs list for free. Another very easy way to market for free is to add a message at the end of your home answering machine message. Such as "if you're calling about my gift wrapping service let me know and I'll get right back to you". You'll be surprised home many people will ask you about your business, and it doesn't cost you a dime.
These are just a few ways to get earn Christmas money and are great ways to make money with no money to get started. Good luck and happy holidays.

What is Success and How Do We Achieve It?

To be clear about what success is must be the first step to achieving success.
So far, the best definition I have come across is: "Success is the completion of anything intended." In other words success is finishing what you planned to do.
Even robbing a bank is a kind of success if that is what you wished to do. However, you probably did not intend to end up in prison!
The above definition of success shines a light on failure and success. Make a plan and follow it and you will have succeeded. Make a plan and do not follow it and you will have failed.
This gives a yard stick for judging every day of our lives. We can say at the end of the day "I have failed" or "I have succeeded."
This may seem very obvious but it is amazing that only about 85% of the human race end up doing what they intended.
I asked several people what they thought success was. One person said that "Success is making loads of money." Another said that success is "Achieving your goals". Some one else said that success is "Fulfilling your potential". An interesting answer was that success is "Making others jealous".
Brian Tracy agrees with the connection between success and goals. He has said "Success is goals, and all else is commentary." Tracy believes that people with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them.
Stuart Goldsmith in "The Midas Method" has an important section on how to set goals so that they are achieved using the full power of the subconscious mind.
Maria Nemeth gives this definition of success: "Doing what you said you would do, with ease".
"Doing what you said you would do" is currently not achieved by the majority of the human race especially politicians! Doing it with ease is achieved by even fewer and requires making the most of the subconscious mind.
Jim Rohn argues that success is just a few simple disciplines practised daily.
The power of daily discipline is HUGE. Because the discipline is practised daily the effect is cumulative. The good practice is carried out 365 times a year with, perhaps, a few lapses.
It cannot fail to have tremendous influence. Once the discipline becomes a daily habit, it can be forgotten about until the rewards start coming in.
The writer who writes every day has written well over 300 pages by the end of the year. If he or she does not write every day they lose momentum and inspiration. If they keep up the writing (even just a few words a day) a magnet for relevant thoughts develops.
Recently a Liverpool student of American media studies applied for 600 jobs and received only one interview which he failed. He decided to write a novel. He determined to complete ten pages a day. He worked in the evenings at a dead end job to make money and then wrote until about 5 in the morning at his novel which has now become famous. It also looks like becoming a Hollywood blockbuster film.
He points out that if you write only one page a day for 100 days you can write a screen play. He wrote his novel by studying the structure of two other novels and noticing how they were structured and wrote his screenplay after studying video of films and noticing how long each scene lasted before there was a change.
I can't remember his name or the name of his book as I just happened to hear part of his interview on television.
The practice of daily disciplines alone can change our lives totally. Another benefit of daily disciplines is that they quickly create habits and habits create character.
A great quote by Jim Ryun, the American Athlete, is as follows
"Motivation is what gets you started.
Habit is what keeps you going"
Another brilliant quote is:
"Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value."
Albert Einstein
The next quote says more or less the same thing:
"Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it." Henry David Thoreau
Many would argue that success is not about making money but about developing oneself into a person who is valuable to others.
However, this quite often will lead to making money because people will pay for value. Any one who is very good at their job can usually command whatever pay they wish.
Adam Hollioake is one of the most successful English county cricket captains. He realised what is important in life when his brother Ben was killed in a car accident in Perth Australia. Adam learned that he should be kind to people and have fun and "that's what life is about."
His view of success in cricket is not necessarily winning. He is not afraid to lose a cricket match. He is only concerned that his team put 100% effort into the game. He comments:
"If we do put that effort in we usually win anyway".
Success then is putting in 100% effort whatever the results. More often than not, however, the results will be excellent.
Michael Angier has a great definition of success.
"Success is the result of steadily taking action on our most important goals. When we consistently focus our energies and our efforts upon what matters most, we can't help but be successful".
Angier also admires Ralph Waldo Emerson's comments on success:
"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; this is to have succeeded."
What are the causes of failure and success?
William James, the great American psychologist, puts failure down to lack of faith in one self
"There is but one cause of human failure. And that is man's lack of faith in his true self."
Faith in one self is a huge part of success. Stuart Goldsmith in "The Midas Method" talks about two kinds of belief that are necessary for success. You must believe that you deserve to succeed and you must believe that you have the ability to succeed.
Another big cause of success is discipline.
"The ability to discipline yourself to delay gratification in the short term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term is the indispensable prerequisite for success." Brian Tracy
Another cause is the willingness to try to succeed even if the possiblity of success is remote.
"Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see the beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead."
Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) American Writer
My computer guru, Danny believes that you should hold on to your dream in all circumstances and never let go. Grab hold of your vision with an iron fist and even if you are down on your luck and in the gutter never give up.
Danny himself has held on to a dream for 22 years. His dream is to develop the best languages translator in the world.
It does not matter if you are 72 - grab hold of your dream. Actually visualize your hand holding on to that dream. Too many people are worn down by life and give up their dreams.
Every dream is personal but the principle is the same. You are an idiot if you let go. You have to have a reason for living. Set yourself a goal and never let go until you die.
There is nothing you can't do. If you can't swim 10 lengths without a rest, train for a few months and you will be able to swim 50 lengths.
Danny's comments about swimming reminded me about how little is taught at school about how training can improve your abilities.
At my school in the Isle of Man, there was an annual half mile swim in the sea. I knew I would drown if I attempted this but no one ever suggested that I start training hard so that I would be capable of completing the swim.
I was just classified as someone who could not do the swim. It did not occur to me that through determined training I would be able to do what I could not previously do.
When Danny was young he was a skinny weakling. But one day he decided that this was not a good thing. He filled out and did some weight training and set up his own fitness, strength and flexibility routine.
He performs this every other day. This avoids the boredom of a daily routine. He does 200 situps, 30-50 leg raises and three or four sets of 20-30 bench presses.
He also does 2 sets of 20 or 30 squats with dumbells to develop leg power. The dumbbells avoid the danger of overbalancing with a barbell across your shoulders. There is also little likelihood that you will drop the dumbbells on children or family pets! Dumbells allow for greater control than barbells.
Danny's advice for success is to do something. If in doubt, read a book. The worst thing you can do is sit on your backside watching TV. If you do, nothing will ever happen. He notes the hypnotic effect of TV on the spectators. Danny seldom ever watches TV.
Danny also is impressed by Arnold Schwarzenegger who has just been elected Governor of California. If Arnold wants something, he does what is necessary to get that thing. If he had to eat 50 mars bars, he would eat them. If he had to stand stark naked on his head in a field for half an hour he would.
This is an example to us all. If you have to put stamps on thousands of envelopes to send out your direct mail sales letters, you just have to do it.
The basic principle is that you have to do what is required. Some things require certain actions to achieve them and you have to do them whether you like doing them or not.
It is no good saying I want to be Governor of California but I don't want to do any public speaking or travel on the campaign trail or be friendly to thousands of people you don't like. You have to pick up babies and smile at people you may not like.
If you want to be rich you have to do those things which will make you rich. It's no good saying "I don't really want to do it." Danny gives himself a virtual smack round the head every time he is tempted to give up on his projects.
Some people think they will make money by taking short cuts like suing people or fraud. The world would be a much better place if people just got on with doing what they had to do.
Many successful people stress the importance of action in achieving success.
Michael Masterson of the Ezine "Early to Rise" writes:"Action is the key to success, and failure to act is the reason most people will never achieve the kind of success they dream about"
Another approach to achieving success is to stay cool about it. Just get on with doing what you think is important and what you love to do.
"Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally." Sir David Frost
Elvis Presley gave his cousin Donna some advice to help her achieve her goals for the future. It seems good advice to me:
Donna's best memory of Elvis was when she was 18 and she spoke to him one on one. He asked her about her plans for the future and told her she could achieve anything she wanted "so long as you have faith in God;have faith in yourself; work hard and never let anyone tell you, you can't do something".
Elvis himself had plenty of discouragement which he successfully ignored. The later part of his life was not too successful but as Donna commented, we should focus on what he did achieve which was amazing.
Peter Vidmar explains how he achieved success at the Olympic Games:
"There's only two things I had to do to win the Olympic gold: Train when I wanted to, and train when I didn't."
This is possibly my favourite quote of all time. It sums up the essence of success and the will power and discipline necessary to achieve it. Sometimes training will be easy but sometimes it will take effort because one really does not feel like training. This is simple and beautifully easy to understand.
Another quote I like is concerned with the kind of success which depends on people liking your work or product. Don't worry about whether they will like your work. Just do your best and leave the liking or disliking up to them.
"Success has a simple formula: 'Do your best and people may like it'".
Sam Ewing
Any success involves some kind of cost; usually some boring work is involved as suggested in the following quote. The word 'drudgery' sums this kind of work up exactly. Almost any kind of business involves marketing and marketing is the last thing many businessmen enjoy doing.
"Success is the child of drudgery and perseverance. It cannot be coaxed or bribed; pay the price and it is yours".
Orison Swett Marden, 1850-1924.
Mike Litman comes up with golden statements frequently. Here is just one of them:
"The biggest secret of success in life is: You don't have to get it right; you just have to get it going. Perfectionism can kill success. We never get going because we are always waiting to get everything just right. Instead, let's get going."
One success breeds another. Bobby Robson, now over 70, is one of Britain's most successful managers. He should know what creates success. He recently commented about his team's performances:
"Success breeds success"
This makes sense. Write one successful book and you will have the confidence to write another. A lady over 70 wrote a book about overcoming the pain of arthritis. It was a huge success to her total amazement and made hundreds of thousands of dollars. Not surprisingly she has now written two more books.
Success is a key goal for most people but it helps to have a clear idea of what success means to you. I hope this article will have shed some light on possible definitions of success and provided some ideas about how you can achieve your kind of success.

Best Jobs For the Future Economy

The best jobs for the future have absolutely nothing to do with the jobs our parents had, the best jobs 10 years ago or even the great careers of yesterday...We are in a NEW ECONOMY and the way we make a living has changed.
Unless you know what you're doing there will be little to NO job security in the 21st century, our economy has changed on fundamental level and unless you want to find yourself caught in the recession it's important to pay attention to the coming trends. More and more businesses are downsizing, more people are working from home, which is great for you and your family. Below I've laid out what I believe to be the top 3 careers that will make you a lot of money and be fun at the same time.
Top 3 Best Jobs For The Future:
1. Home Based Entrepreneur or Business Owner: That's right if you examine any recession in history there is always 1 profession that is hands down the best and that is entrepreneurship. The good news for you is it's never been easier to become one, the invention of the internet will allow many people to make 6 and 7 figure incomes from the comfort of their own home even during a recession.
2. Internet/Affiliate Marketer: Becoming an internet marketer used to be a mystery but not anymore. Some of the most valuable training on the planet has evolved because of this profession. The best part is you can get training for free, which is much cheaper than spending thousands and thousands of dollars on school.
3. Join a Direct Sales Organization: Direct selling is the absolute future of the New Economy and if you enjoy helping people this ones for you. $100-$250k per year incomes are easily attainable by joining the right team and organization. Full training is provided and this is truly one of the best jobs for the future.
One LAST thing....
The future is always uncertain but there is one thing you can be absolutely certain about. The old paradigm of going to school, getting a degree, and becoming a slave to the rat race is a thing of the past. I highly suggest you begin to study and hang around successful people. Remember we are in a NEW ECONOMY, take ACTION!

Ten of the best ... ways to make money from your desk

1. Get paid to surf the net

You surf the net all the time so why not make money every time you click on "search"? Yahoo powers searches which pay a small amount every time you run one – it is willing to do so because it wants to break down Google's domination. There is a search at Moneymagpiesearch.com. If you recommend your friends you will also make commission on their searches. The payments are small but we know people who have made around £30 in two months by searching regularly. You can choose whether you receive your money through PayPal or by bank transfer.

2. Take part in online surveys

Again, this is pocket money while you're on the internet, but it can be fun too. It is simply a case of answering questions about a particular product or company, or about your shopping habits. Be careful which surveys you use – some are fraudulent. Among the best of the genuine ones is panelbase.net, which will pay between 50p and £3 a survey, Valued Opinions, which pays between £1 and £5 a survey, and Ciao-surveys.co.uk, which pays up to £5.

3. Get paid for social networking

You can make money by keeping in touch with friends, and making more friends, on social networking site Yuwie. Set up a profile, write a blog, upload photos and videos and do what you usually do with any networking site. The difference with Yuwie is that it pays you to do all these things using advertising revenue. The amount you get paid depends on the number of times you and your friends view your pages. If you have lots of friends the views mount up and you can make some worthwhile cash.

4. Recycle your mobile

Have you got a useless old mobile in your desk drawer? Most of us have at least one hanging around the office or house, so make money from yours. Send it to Mopay and make between £2.50 and £200 depending on its make and condition. Even rubbishy old battered models can be worth a few quid if they can be sold on for spare parts.

5. Sell adverts on your blog

If you are a regular blogger and have built up a bit of a following, you could make money selling advertising around your posts. You can make cash quickly by putting Google Adsense on it. If you get enough traffic you make money every time people click on the ads. Blogs are also great for selling any products you have, promoting your services (it could be anything from sales training to web development or maternity care) and selling eBooks you have created yourself.

6. Sell your photos

If you have a nice collection of digital photos you could sell them over and over again through online agencies. Send them in to one or more agencies and any they like they will upload to the site. When people buy them you get a commission; you could end up getting paid for years to come. Pictuenation say many of their photographers make hundreds of pounds a month, and some are simply good amateurs. Also try Fotolia and istockphoto.

7. Rent out your stuff

Everyone knows about selling stuff on eBay, but how about renting it and making money over and over again? Sites like RentNotToBuy.co.uk and RentRino will let you advertise anything from a baby bath to a ball gown. It is a new phenomenon, so it could be a while before anyone rents your power tools or your DVD player, but if you have a spare minute upload your details and later on you could make some regular cash.

8. Complain to gain

We don't complain enough in this country, which is one of the reasons why service can be so bad. However, those who complain constructively have worked out they can even make money through it. A well-crafted, reasonable letter including a request for financial compensation can make you money. Write to a company's CEO explaining the problem and set out the amount you feel you should receive in compensation. If it is refused write again, and even write a third time if necessary. Usually by the second or third letter they cave in and give you about half of what you were asking for.

9. Answer text questions

If you're a bit of a trivia king or queen you could make money by answering people's text questions. It is flexible work and you just have to be a bit knowledgeable and quick at searching the net (make extra by following point 1 above). On average, question answerers make about £10 an hour. The questions vary enormously: you could get anything from "Where's the nearest pizza place?" to "Who won the 1962 world cup?" and "Will I ever find love?". Visit ansanow or Textperts to see if you are quick enough to be part of their teams of knowledge hunters.

10. Get cashback

If you use your lunch hour to buy essentials, make sure you get paid to do it. Shop around first to find the best deals, then look on cashback sites to see if you could get money back by buying through them. Start with sites that give you instant cash just by signing up, such as Rpoints, which gives you £5, Cashback shopper, which gives you £5, and ecashback, which gives you £2.50 immediately.

3 habits of highly effective leaders

Are you a leader? Whether you're an executive or an entry-level employee, leadership is a truly essential skill that can propel you and your career to bigger, better things. That holds true for both leaders of large teams and self-employed people who are guiding a team of one.

I recently spoke to leadership consultant Jennifer Garvey Berger, whose new book, Changing On The Job Developing Leaders For A Complex World, is already garnering praise from industry executives and academic experts at Microsoft, Fidelity, Harvard University and Boston College. Here are some of her insights on what good leaders do -- and what separates them from the pack.
4 Things a manager should never say
Hot NOT to fire someone: 5 Common Mistakes

What are three habits a competent leader practices regularly?
The first habit is asking different questions. This is about expanding your curiosity. The second habit is taking multiple perspectives. This habit is about listening well and understanding the perspectives of others. The third habit is looking at systems, and that one reminds us that while the human brain likes to break things down into manageable parts, it is the unwieldy combination of those unmanageable systems that opens us up to new possibilities.
Do even the best leaders make mistakes?
Yes. They'll get mad and make mistakes and hurt people. And sometimes they won't even recognize that they've done that. But the best leaders never stop learning, never become so arrogant or complacent that they stop believing they have room to grow. They never become so hopeless or discouraged that they believe it's not worth the effort. John F. Kennedy wrote that "leadership and learning are indispensable to each other." The good leaders (almost) never forget this.
What else separates great leaders from everyone else?
They create environments where people can be at their biggest. We all have the experience of people who make us smaller and less capable versus those who make us more capable in their presence than we are without them. Good leaders remember that their perspective isn't the only truth, and they welcome entire human beings into the workplace -- inconvenient emotions, vague hunches, thoughtless mistakes and all. When people see us in our messy wholeness, we can spread out and become bigger.
If I want to become more of a leader today, how should I start?

The most important thing? Believe that you can change and begin to look for the ways you might need to by asking for feedback from others. Forgive yourself for your limitations (rather than denying them or beating yourself up about them), and then seek to grow beyond the way you understand the world today.

Don't Ever Let Anyone Crush Your Spirit! The Business Owner Mindset Is What Will Define You!

Many of you have lived in the employee mindset most of your working life. What you really need to do is clear your minds, clean out your old ways, and transition to the business owner mindset. Make a conscious decision that you want to be a business owner.
I was forced into my decision to be a business owner. As an employee, working in the same job for many years, teaching others to do what I have learned was extremely satisfying. But as an employee, I realized I was only training my replacement. If I had been a business owner all those years, I would have been creating duplication and wealth!
What does a business owner mindset, as opposed to the employee mindset, look like? Let me give you a few examples:
• The Business Owner Mindset understands that the purpose of business is to make money. The goal is to generate income! After all, income and freedom is what you want. Whereas the employee mindset is limited to the narrow view that working overtime to impress the Boss, earn some extra overtime, or extra vacation days is the key to success.
• The Business Owner Mindset individual thinks for themselves. Allowing others to think for you is the employee mindset; and furthermore, the employee will only perform what they are paid to do - no more and no less.
• In the Business Owner Mindset, creating the proper system that produces the results of success is your aim. The employee mindset believes they don't have to think about systems, it's already done for them.
• In the Business Owner Mindset, understanding strategy and implementing that strategy into your business practices is essential. In the mindset of an employee is to follow a strategy in place and rarely understand that strategy.
• The Business Owner Mindset is open to multiple streams of income with multiple business strategies. The employee mindset believes that if they just work their job all their life, they will retire wealthy.
Now that I've given you some examples of the differences between a Business Owner Mindset and an Employee Mindset, I'm sure you would agree that the Business Owner Mindset is the more attractive of the two. In saying that, let me give you a few pointers on how to achieve the Business Owner Mindset.
• To begin, have a clear vision of your business, and commit your vision to paper. In other words "Ink It". Plan your work and then work your plan. Setting a clear outcome will keep you focused on your goals. No one will tell you what time to show up or how long you have to stay. There's no "duties" list to follow, make your own!
• As a business owner you are in charge and performing without limits is your goal. Think about this. What do you want your business to look like? Have a mindset of preeminence. Marketing yourself is your number one goal. Do whatever it takes to build your business, with proper ethics; and then teach others to do the same. Once you have determined your goals and direction, then you can duplicate it by training others to do the same.
• Be more strategic about your business activity. Take action. Work on your business, not just in it. A proper system allows automation and creates time for you to do more in the same amount of time. I once read that the only difference between you and a wealthy person is what you do with your time. During your idle time are you watching some unimportant TV show or just being lazy? Don't get me wrong we all need relaxing time to clear our minds, but wait until after your system is in place and working for you. Then you will have the income to enjoy your time.
• A consumer purchasing your product on a regular basis is your goal. The strategy of creating a loyal customer base is only done by the ease of transferring your product for money. Creating a plan is your strategy. Working the plan is your implantation. Tracking the results for needed changes and adjusting your plan is the ongoing strategy and implementation. This is what is done by successful business owners. A good strategist has a business mindset. Stay Focused on Your Goal.
• While your marketing plan is in operation always encourage and respond to feedback. This will be your indicators that your strategy is on track or indicate if a swift change of plan is needed. Every battle is an indicator of whether you're winning the war. Additionally, if your marketing plan is systematic in attraction, you can use it to market any product. Know what your customer wants or desires, and then quickly create a plan to fill the void.
• Understand your emotional ties to your business. Take Responsibility for Your Results. It is all your risk and your reward now. While controlling your risk, focus on your reward. Psychological studies suggest that your mind works on bringing into reality whatever you are focused on the most. Have you heard "what can be done in 90 days consistently becomes habit"? This is why it's important to be clear and concise what goals you are aiming for.
• You know that the days of a retaining one job all your life is in the past. The days of a company "taking care" of you we all know is dead. Many of today's companies will replace you for someone younger and less expensive as you get over qualified or even older. You just lost the control you thought you had of your future.
Being your own boss entails a lot of responsibility, but it provides a very attractive sense of freedom. An additional reward of starting your own business - and it is a big one - is the great satisfaction of accomplishment that comes with having built an enterprise from your hopes and dreams, and then teaching others on how to do the same.

How Good Is Network Marketing?

Can network marketing works for you as a home-based business opportunity?
Do you have any idea what is Multilevel marketing and is it better than your existing nine-to-five job you are holding right now?
Multilevel marketing is a form of marketing opportunity that levied on the people-get-people concept of sharing benefits generated from sales in a network.
There are many forms of compensation plans that rewards MLM members among those are the over-riding commissions a leader enjoys when his down-line make a sale or recruits someone.
Most people would call MLM a home business opportunity but can a home business as the name suggests makes a lot of money for you?
You might have heard from your friends or have seen it with your own eyes how successful some of them are after they have embarked on these "home business" and you are tickled to give it try.
Stories of people making it rich have further strengthen your resolve to join the league of work-at-home business marketer. If it is so profitable, then why is it known as a home business? Is the name unjustified for such a great opportunity?
Perhaps the name stuck when it was first started out in the 60s and 70s where there were massive unemployment due to the global recession and people have to find an alternate route to survive the financial turmoil. People started selling door-to-door and started to recruit members. They saved on advertising costs and there is no middlemen involved in the sales process which results in cheaper marketing cost. This extra cost saved was later passed on back to the network as income to its members.
But how good is MLM as a work-at-home business opportunity that makes people leave their existing desk job?
Well, it all depends on how effective and productive is your network. If all your down-line are doing their part on recruiting new members and make sales, then you will find that MLM is a good investment of your time and effort.
The more people in your network mean that your earnings potential will be much greater than if you have just a few. MLM works on the promotional system. As you get a set of results like the sum of money you have achieved in your monthly sales or a particular number of members in your network, your own status get promoted and you earn better commissions and rewards like gaining free trips and bonuses awarded by the companies.
There is practically no huge initial investment costs involved in joining a MLM company. You do not have to pay thousands of dollars just to get started. Maybe a token subscription sum of money to pay for your starting kit and you are all set to go.
If you are ready to go, let's just jump in to join the network marketing home business program at http://www.makingmoneyonlineforlife.com/fb/

Home Business: 5 Rules to Beat Stress and Overwhelm for Work At Home Mums

Perhaps becoming a work from home mum didn't end up being as leisurely as you expected? Did you plan ahead and think that, all through the week, you'd just look after your kids, do the washing, keep the house clean, prepare lovely meals for dinner, get some shopping done, meet up with your friends, get some physical exercises done daily, and work your business leisurely amongst all these other tasks? Perhaps you even achieved all of these, in a somewhat chaotic manner, for a couple of weeks (maybe months), and suddenly noticed that you were totally overwhelmed, disorganised and stressed out?
I have had this personal experience, and I have spoken with many other work at home mums who have reached the same lack of control and efficiency, in their two central roles as a mother and business entrepreneur. When I began my home business, I had the belief that I could just wing it and use my multi-tasking talents to juggle everything at once and get great results. However I didn't - wing it or get the results that is. And so I thought I would start to just work HARDER. And believe me, I can work hard. I can work like a machine. And I actually don't mind it. But my goals do, because as I work hard instead of smart, they're not getting realised.
I've taken back control since then. I have 5 rules which I follow, and these allow me to be a successful home business owner and work at home mum, without the overwhelm and stress. So here are my 5 rules:
1. I commit to a strict schedule. Yes, you read this right! Though I value the flexibility I gain while working from home, I only use it when I really need to. When you understand what you must do and accomplish at any particular time, and you have a deadline for it, you take action and get it done! I have meticulously planned a schedule for each week to allow for quality time with my kids, catching up with friends, and each of my business responsibilities. I am clear on what times work best for enjoying and nurturing my kids, and I also know the best times for focus and productivity in my home business.
2. I get leverage on my efforts. I focus on processes and results that I can duplicate. I collaborate with colleagues so that I can get double or triple back from my contribution and efforts. I establish procedures that are likely to be used widely across various tasks (I regularly begin new projects from skeletons from prior projects). I find automated resources that I can set up once with the purpose of saving me time and effort. Fortunately, my primary home business opportunity arrived with automated systems for managing and marketing my business, and a highly leveraged profit structure - which helps immensely.
3. I manage my expectations. Like most work at home mums who start a business for the very first time, I was full of belief and ambition. However, I completely underestimated the amount of devotion and persistence that would be required to realise all my objectives. While I still prefer to maintain a high level of confidence, focus and optimism (and put some significant energy into developing my success mindset), I also manage my expectation by following a rational business plan, by closely monitoring my progress, and by consistently assessing how effective my strategies are for reaching my goals.
4. I get help. I employ a professional virtual assistant for my home business and she does a superb job at managing all those tasks that are time-consuming and don't need my skills. My children go to child care 2 days each week, which I believe is the ideal balance for them to be sociable, stimulated and independent. During those two days, I put all my attention into my home business. My spouse is also very involved, and there are set periods of time where I work at home while he takes care of our kids. This works for all of us, and allows me to avoid the unproductive multi-tasking.
5. I take care of myself. As a hard-working machine, there are times when you don't eat even if you're hungry, and you don't sleep even if you're tired. That's only sustainable for real machines, and doesn't work even for the most ambitious work at home mums! If I nurture my body, mind and spirit, I am also more empowered. So I allocate some time for sleeping, eating, relaxing, keeping fit and for my personal development.
These 5 rules enable me to create balance and productivity in my life and business, and I trust that work at home mums can implement these and get the benefits of being well-planned, relaxed, productive, healthy, and successful.

Five Online Home Business Ideas To Try Today

Working in the usual office setup is the usual scenario to maintain a job and earn a living. But if you want to have a break from your usual nine to five grind, then it is high time to look for options to make money. Here are some online home business ideas that you can try today.
Offer professional services online. Starting an online business at home does not mean that you will completely abandon what you have used to do in the office. The only difference in this situation is for you to present yourself as someone who can do this for your clients instead of doing this for your immediate supervisor. So if you write articles for websites, then you can offer professional article writing service. If coming up with best viral marketing video is your thing, why not offer these to company website owners or internet marketers instead? These are just examples of best online business ideas that you can start today using the same type of work that you have been doing through the years. All you need to do is to create your own website and promote this to get your initial roster of clients.
If you really want to have a complete career change as you create your home business, why not pursue a passion that you have already missed doing in the past? If you really love baking but are not doing it because of rushing to the office everyday, then this is the perfect time to push your baking skills to make money. Also if drawing caricatures makes you happy throughout the day, why not start coming up with samples so you can offer your passion for profit? If that is the case, you just have to prepare your digital camera so you can take pictures of your products to be posted on your website. If you are going to sell your caricatures, you can make a quick video on how you draw some basic ones to share on your site. You can even use these short demo videos to initially build traffic to your website.
Do you want more online home business ideas to consider? You can also try your hand at selling your pre loved goodies on auction sites. If you have organized garage sales before then this is something that you are comfortable doing online as well. Grab some boxes and place those pre loved items that you will sell online. This business hits two goals, that is to clear your house of excess items as well as turning these ones into additional income for your family.
Getting yourself in trying affiliate marketing is another option to make money online. You just have to find some products that you can sell online. These are mostly digital products as opposed to the physical goodies that you will sell on auction sites. No need for you to take care of shipping if you are going to offer these digital products to your customers like electronic books, guides and tutorials to name a few.
Lastly, you can also post about your everyday ideas and make money in the process. You can set up a blog using Wordpress, Blogger and Site Build It and then start posting away. If you want to have a central theme on your blog, you can use free keyword tools to research on the specific topic that you want to cover. If you want to talk about general topics that's fine as well. This is also the best time to learn about some seo techniques so you can promote your website and get more visitors. You can then sell a space on your blog to promote a product that is somewhat related on your site's topic. For example, if you have a beauty blog, then you can sell ad space to online cosmetic companies for additional income.
These are just five online home business ideas that you can try today. There are some where you can carry over your usual office task to get started while there are some that need you to discover your previous passion to make money. But if you are going to really focus your attention and efforts to it, then you can definitely rely on this to make a sustained income for your family while you are just a chair away from them.

Respect Yourself, Respect Your Business

Kim Kardashian frequently mentions the importance of her "work" and her "work ethic". We all know she doesn't really do anything that most people would consider work, but she completely respects what she does and she gets paid well from doing what she does. If she can respect her business with such confidence then how much more should you or I respect our business?
Most of us have been trained from a young age to be an employee and take orders. Unfortunately that means when we try to strike out on our own as entrepreneurs there is the temptation to slack and make excuses for not following through. I'm speaking to myself too when I say this, but I ask that you respect your business. When you hang your shingle and out and say, "I'm open for business" respect that decision you've made. Your business is just as important as any other business. The following are a few things to keep in mind when you find yourself not respecting your home based business.
Pretend you work for Someone else
I'm sure you have had a job at some point in your life. Think about how you behaved at that job and how you approached your work. Now sure sometimes one may slack off, but there are things that you wouldn't try to get a way with at work that you may allow yourself to do in your home-based business. So if you can respect the boss's business enough to show up for work and get your tasks done, apply that same ethic to your own business when working from home.
If it helps to pretend like you are working for someone else and that you have a boss looking over you then do that. You can even have an alter-ego that you name and call your "Boss". I wouldn't tell people about your "Boss" who is actually your alter-ego because they might just think you are crazy in a Sybil kind of way.
Hold yourself accountable
Another part of respecting your business is holding yourself accountable when you make promises to yourself and others. If you set out with a list of things to do for the day and you didn't do it, make the effort to get it done or be prepared to face consequences from your "Boss". As entrepreneurs we know the real consequence of not getting things done is stagnation in your business which is worse than being yelled at by a boss. But as humans we sometimes need that extra push.
Respect Your Time
Time is one of the limited resources we have that we don't even know how much we have ultimately. That means you should respect your own time. Be on time for your appointments and be prepared. Promptness is one of those basic things that customers expect from a professional.
Work the hours you said you would work. With having your own home-based business one of the benefits is being able to be flexible with your schedule. But with having a family and home responsibilities it's easy for that flexibility to get out of control. If your family is supposed to respect your work time, then you need to respect it first. You can get more done when you dedicate a chunk of time to your home business instead of just trying to fit things in throughout the day.
Respect Your Ability
When people find out they are talking to the owner of the business, they may try to negotiate on prices or even ask for freebies! You are running a business and offering something of value, don't let potential customers talk you out of what you think you deserve, especially if they want something free. Whether your business is doing make up or designing advertisements respect what you do and hold firm when you feel you have to. A little negotiation never hurt anyone and I don't suggest you lose a customer over holding firm, just don't make it a habit of giving things away or always discounting your prices when that is not what you intended.
In conclusion, in order to respect your business you need to respect yourself as a business person and as a professional. Don't fall into the trap of being the "nice boss" with yourself that lets you slack off. Being an entrepreneur, particularly in a home-based business requires constant self-motivation. Remember to respect your business, respect your time and respect your ability. It all starts with you.

Seniors Working From Home

More and more individuals are looking for a reputable and free of charge work at home opportunity. This is especially true of today seniors. Health care costs, living expenses are both on the rise as we all know. Living on a "fixed" income is no longer an option for many senior citizens. Some have taken to working part-time outside the home while others have looked into working from home on the Internet.
Senior citizens bring a unique and much looked for commodity to the Internet business community...experience. While many seniors are not comfortable with the computer, all are quick learners.
One of the major concerns I have when advising other seniors about working online is how to tell a scam from a legitimate work from home business. This particular concern is not something just senior should look out for but anyone who wants to work from home.
Who wouldn't want to work part-time for a full-time income? Anyone would! Some of the so-called companies will make promises of making large amounts of money within a short period of time. Beware of the company who makes this promise and then asks for you to pay something in advance for a listing of companies that are hiring at home workers. You should ask yourself "why do they need money up front?"
This doesn't mean that if a company asks you for money up front that it is a "scam". Remember the old saying "Buyer Beware"? What are they offering for that money, just a list? Anyone can have a list, doesn't mean the list is up to date or that the companies are legitimate companies. I could make a list right now of company names, addresses even phone numbers and then sell them to you for $49.99 with no guarantee the list is accurate or legitimate.
How do you tell if it is a scam? What do you get for your money? Is there training? How about a money-back guarantee? Is there someone on the other end of the phone line who is knowledgeable about the product? Is there support should you need help? These are the questions I ask when searching for work from home businesses to promote. You should ask them also.
Listed below are a few pointers for the person who wants to work from home to consider:
  • Unlike offline work time limits and deadlines are of your choosing, not someone else
  • The World Wide Web has made available a global marketplace or market through immediate marketing communications.
  • The Internet is called the World Wide Web for a reason...it has made the world a global marketplace. Unlike never before in history the market is open 24/7 in all cultures, regions of the world. Instant communication with the marketplace is now possible.
  • Product sales aren't essential for good results.
  • How many products you sell is no longer essential to growth. Making your quota every month is no longer an issue.
Affiliate marketing programs are free of any charges and they will usually provide step-by-step methods on how to use the programs to make money online.
Google AdSense and 7Search both incorporate successful marketing and advertising methods at no cost to you. You simply place their ads on your site and when someone clicks on their ads, you get paid. Payment amounts vary depending on the advertisers.
Another method (which is the method I use to make money online) is to promote affiliate marketing programs through different marketing companies. I then place their links on my website and am paid when someone purchases a program.
Websites do not have to be expensive or hard to make. Some hosting companies will offer both domain names and hosting services for as little as $4.95 a month. You can download a free HTML editor and design your own website using a free website template available on the Internet. Or if html scares or confuses you...try a blog. You can get a free one at blogspot.com. You can use your own domain name if you want.
A work at home business does not have to be expensive, hard or unattainable in today's marketplace. It just takes patience, a willingness to learn new techniques, and a few hours a day!

Is A Home Business For Me?

Millions of people dream of starting a home based business. One thing most fail to realize is that a business is always more work than it looks like. It's a good idea to research any home based business thoroughly before committing your time, energy and money to it.
Most people have a "try out" approach when they first begin a home business. This approach relieves a lot of the pressure involved in running a business. However, it is all too easy to turn a fledgling home business into an expensive hobby. Remember the point of your own home based business is to provide money and freedom. A hobby eats up more money than it will bring in. Treat your business like a business. Keep detailed records so you can track profit and losses.
It's great to have fun with your home based business, but profit should be the main goal. We all have hopes and dreams of making lots of money. A business puts you in control of your dreams.
So what kind is best to run from home? The answer to this question is also a question. What do you know about? What do you enjoy? If you don't have children and don't like children, a children's birthday planning business is probably not for you. If you don't enjoy your home based business it will become just another job.
One of the biggest advantages of running your business from home is "The fact that you work when and how you need to, without leaving your house", which is great for parents or disabled people.
Something to consider before starting your home business is that for the first year or more you will probably be working longer hours than you do now in your day job. Profits take one year minimum to materialize, maybe more. If profits flood in the first day you are one of a very rare, very lucky few.
Your home based business can be a rewarding experience in more ways than just financially, but money should be the point of any business.

Small Business Idea's For Parents

In my point of view, so called 'great small business ideas' have to fit certain criteria before they can be called great and are suitable for full time stay at home parents. Firstly and most importantly you must be able to fit them in and make them work around the commitments of your busy family life and secondly, they shouldn't require that you invest a small fortune to start them up.
I personally wanted to start a home business because I am a full time stay at home dad but I also wanted to still be able to contribute financially to my family. Many of the people I have met along the way who also have home businesses are also full time parents. Some of them are only able to find ten or twenty hours a week to spend on building their businesses while others are able to find more time. It all depends on individual circumstances.
I personally manage to spend around thirty hours a week and sometimes more on my business. My two children are three and six years old and go to nursery and school, which means that, I am able to work for at least three hours during the day. My wife works and because she likes to make sure that she spends some quality time with the children on a daily basis always takes the children to bed. This means that I can start working again around seven in the evening and I usually finish around eleven.
I try to resist the temptation to work on a weekend, which I must admit is sometimes difficult because I genuinely enjoy what I am doing. It's very important to take some time for the family and friends though and of course there are always jobs around the house that also need to be done. Rome wasn't built in a day but it was built!
As well as your business fitting in with your family life you should be able to get started quite cheaply. If you have access to a computer and an Internet connection you should be almost there. My business is a mix of affiliate and network marketing. Some of the programs I am involved in require a small monthly subscription but some are free. Also, you don't need to have a huge marketing budget either because there are lots of free and very cheap ways to promote your business.
It is up to me how much time I invest in my business and how much money I earn. At the end of the day I am my own boss and I call the shots.

Small Business Idea's

If you really think about it, you cannot possibly make enough money to reach your financial freedom by just being a regular employee. If you want to really get rich, you must start thinking big. You must seriously consider running your own business and getting people to work for you -- this is simply the recipe to earn more money.
However, what they say is true -- everything starts with a single step. If you don't have enough experience and relevant background just yet, it's better if you can start by building a small business. This can prepare you in handling bigger responsibilities in the long run.
When choosing the best small business for you, it is highly recommended that you go with those ones that you are deeply passionate about or an expert on. Remember, you'll be spending lots of your time growing your business and the last thing you'll want to happen is to dread going to work everyday. If you choose something that is aligned to your areas of interest, you'll most likely to feel that you are not working at all. Based on your skills, knowledge, and passion, you can choose any of these top 10 great money-making small business ideas:
1. Start a freelance writing service in the online and offline arena.
2. Offer coaching or consulting services in the field that you are an expert on.
3. Become a virtual assistant (reply to emails and phone calls, write marketing messages, do link building services, etc. for your virtual clients).
4. Sink your teeth into online affiliate marketing (this is one of the most lucrative fields in the online arena today).
5. Start a retail or specialty store in your neighborhood.
6. Try buy and sell. (You can also do this online through auction sites like eBay).
7. Spa and wellness center.
8. Franchise small fast food chains.
To increase your chances of succeeding in this field, make sure that you acquire certain knowledge as to how you can run your business. You must know how to attract prospects, how to properly market your products and services, how to decide on your tag prices, and ultimately, how you can outplay your competitors. You will need to be determined and you will need perseverance and truck load of patience especially if you are just starting out. Remember, the road to success could be bumpy but you'll be able to get there as long as you have determination and motivation.

Entrepreneurs And The Matrix

Entrepreneurs are interesting people. There has been a lot of ink used to discuss what it takes to be one. In truth, it would be interesting to spend some time listing the characteristics of a good entrepreneur. However, that is not my purpose.
I truly believe that many of us have a hidden entrepreneur in us waiting to be unleashed. What I want to do is speak about the issue of what it might take to release your hidden entrepreneur and how your world could change if that happened. If you are interested in walking away from the crowd, if you are somehow hearing a different drummer, or if you are in a dead-end situation hitting a glass ceiling and looking for an exit, this is for you. There is a way out. It is difficult and sometimes scary, but in the end, it will set you free. To find this road, we need to seek it in a most unlikely place.
It is hard to believe that it has been so long since the first Matrix movie was released. Actually it came to theaters for the first time in 1999. It is even more difficult for some of us to believe that after all this time, this movie and its two sequels are still available and continue to be re-released. The latest version is now on new Blu-Ray discs.
In some ways the Matrix trilogy was groundbreaking. They are evidence that you could have films that are full of all of the most breathtaking and jaw dropping fast-paced action, blazing guns, and car chases that adrenaline junkies could ever want. At the same time, they are not the normal mindless drivel that is all too common to this genre. Instead, they are movies that make you think. They are fiction to be sure. Even so, it was not difficult to see the parallels between that world and ours. You could hear people saying things like, "You know, this stuff could be true." Or, "They exaggerated some to make a movie, but yeah, my world is just that out of control."
I know it seems like I have gone pretty far afield from where I started talking about the entrepreneurial spirit. I assure you, though, there is a connection. If you've seen the Matrix movies, you will remember that in the first film Neo (played by Keanu Reeves) is taken to meet Morpheus (played by Laurence Fishburne) for the first time. The two men met in a large room. In his normal life Neo is a computer programmer named Thomas Anderson who senses that the world is somehow all wrong. At night in his apartment, he uses the alias Neo to hack into various computer programs seeking to understand some things that puzzled him and in the process begins his search for Morpheus. Now the men are face to face. In his turn Morpheus has been looking for someone he calls "The One," the man who has been prophesied to come to set the world free from the Matrix and restore it to what it should be. Morpheus is convinced that Neo is the One.
Morpheus makes a speech to Neo which contains the lesson we need to learn here. He begins by suggesting that Neo that considering all he has gone through Neo is bound to feel like Alice just after she fell down a rabbit hole. Neo agrees.
Morpheus asks whether Neo believes in fate. Neo says that he does not. He adds that he doesn't like the idea of anyone having control over his life. Now, it is Morpheus' turn to agree.
Morpheus then takes a few minutes to explain that the Matrix is all around them. It is a pervasive reality controlling everything and everyone. Neo was right to think something was wrong with the world. The world as they know it is nothing but a giant computer program controlled by the Matrix, and everyone and everything in it are nothing but pawns being moved around.
Morpheus gets to the point. From a small silver box he takes two pills and holds one in each hand. One of the pills is red, and the other is blue. Morpheus gives Neo a choice - Will it be red or blue?
Morpheus says to Neo, "This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes."*
Neo reaches out and takes the red pill from Morpheus' hand, puts it in his mouth and swallows it with water. All of the remainder of the story in the trilogy is the result of the decision to take the red pill.
Now, what does all that have to do with being an entrepreneur? It is this. There are no successful entrepreneurs who have not done what Neo did. In other words, entrepreneurs are people who are willing enter the unknown on faith and follow their own visions into the future.
If you are not that kind of person, then the blue pill is for you, and that is okay. You can stay where you are where it is safe and live the life you are leading now and just forget you ever read this. No harm in that.
However, if you want are willing to launch out into the deep, chart your own course, follow your own star with all its associated risks and dangers, then take the red pill, and join the journey because that is what being an entrepreneur is all about. It is about faith and risks and sometimes, standing alone.
So, what will it be for you? Red or blue?
